The Director, Human Resources plans, develops, directs and implements specific HR strategies that align with business objectives, leads all aspects of the HR function for an assigned Meredith business group, and serves as an HR leader for all employees and managers. Primary customers are the Executive Leadership team of the business unit and functional area leaders.. II. Essential Job Functions. Weight %. Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results. Serves as the HR leader and subject matter expert for the business group in all facets of HR including but not limited to: strategic planning, talent attraction and acquisition, employee engagement, performance management, legal compliance, compensation planning, benefit administration, HR success metrics and analytics, training development and delivery, problem prevention and root cause analysis, culture, on-boarding, organizational design, EEO analyses and restructuring, diversity and inclusion, critical communications, and retention.. Actively participates as a member of the Leadership team of the business group and NMG HR team. Identifies business level issues that require escalation.. Develops the annual HR plan for the business group and develops and leads impactful HR initiatives that align with business objectives and support financial growth and profitability.. Performs \"advocate\" role in support of client group. Makes recommendations for changes to Corporate level policies, practices and/or procedures.. Provides counsel and direction and/or directly handles many employee relations cases - in concert with the Corporate HR and/or legal department as necessary. Works with the managers to help them understand what to do about the situation.. Leads the implementation and adoption of Meredith corporate HR strategy and initiatives for the business group in partnership with local/site HR personnel and leadership teams.. Develops and maintains effective working relationships with business group leadership, location personnel, outside legal counsel, HR leadership team peers, and Corporate Management.. III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.. Education:. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.. Experience:. Min of 5-8 years of HR Generalist experience required. Past experience leading HR in a fast paced, creative and dynamic, client driven work environment is highly preferred.. Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:. Ability to lead teams and successfully influence sustainable change. Excellent consulting skills. Must be a strong negotiator who can constructively position a positive POV. Must have a strong Business Acumen. Excellent project management skills and both a high, and tactical level. Ability to delegate effectively and responsibly. Strong verbal and written communication skills. High degree of ingenuity and creativity, with a past track record of developing innovative solutions that matter. Software proficiency including HRIS, payroll, ATS, Performance management, compensation planning, MS Office applications, and database management. Experience with Workday highly preferred.. Ability to manage multiple projects and shift priorities was customer needs change. Ability and desire to take on new and unfamiliar tasks and assignments. Must be an effective leader with the ability to create effective change. Ability to work on teams as well as independently. Good judgment skills. Must be an effective problem solver. Ability to deliver results in a consultative and collaborative manner. % Travel Required (Approximate) : up to 20%.
