Encana's facilities and water team is looking for a highly motivated facilities technologist to support operations in the Anadarko Operating Area. This position is based in The Woodlands and will report to the senior manager. facilities and water.

The ability to work effectively with other professionals with varying levels of experience is an essential requirement to be successful in this role. Other key requirements include; demonstrated organizational skills, strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to efficiently prioritize key activities. In addition, this position will support and collaborate with Encana engineers, field construction operations, IT, development and the planning team.


  • maintain and distribute Facilities Planning Schedule to stakeholders weekly
  • build and maintain SiteView data files for new and legacy production facilities and water infrastructure assets
  • coordinate tracking controllable equipment assets in SiteView with materials management team
  • maintain project execution files and drawings for facilities engineers design information, equipment vendor books and construction records
  • support the development of an integrated master schedule in Primavera/Microsoft Project/Excel showing current work
  • assist with Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) cost reconciliations to actual invoice working with contractors and equipment providers
  • support facilities engineers with progress reporting, including schedule updates, forecast to complete, variance identification and opportunities for improvement
  • assist in managing the Encana Corporate Process Chemical Management Plan
  • maintain budget/AFE/field estimate/actuals cost and schedule data for goal tracking
  • working with contactors and equipment providers
  • coordinate tracking controllable equipment assets in SiteView with materials management team
  • create Geographic Information Systems (GIS) drawings as needed for facility and water management engineers
  • insure entry of pipeline as-built survey data and facility site data into one-call databases
  • assist in keeping water management surveillance tool data updated for the water management and facilities teams
  • track water quality specifications at Salt Water Disposals (SWDs), fresh and produced water sources
  • maintain data on facility and water infrastructure integrity programs that relate to Cathodic Protection, Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Analysis, inspections and failure analysis
  • update maintenance tracking system for production facilities and water system assets
  • serve as MOC Coordinator; compile and distribute MOC action item/summary report
  • collect and maintain project cost data for ongoing planning and estimating application
  • conduct cost analysis and establish/track project cost performance Key Performance Indicators
  • maintain engineering and construction standard operating procedure; review and update periodically
  • assist in writing and updating procedures as needed
  • Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in an engineering technician, facilities technologist or project services/control role, or comparable role in the oil and gas industry
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred, however, professional certification and/or experience in lieu of education will be considered
  • excellent Microsoft Office computer skills
  • experience in SiteView, AFE Navigator, Spotfire and Open Invoice is preferred
  • effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks
  • ability to research information, with good analytical and problem-solving skills
  • motivated to continuously improve team reporting, access to and analysis of information.

  • ability to satisfy US Department of Justice requirements with or without assistance from Encana
